Eid Mubarak from all at Capstone Foster Care!

28th May, 2021

To mark the occasion this year at Capstone South East and to celebrate Eid Ul Fitr, we joined hands with a charity called Penny Appeal to support them with their Feed Yemen Campaign.

Charity is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and plays a huge part in everyday life for Muslims around the world; helping those less fortunate in any way possible and this is especially significant during Ramadan and the Eids.

Since 2014, Yemen has been facing a major humanitarian crisis, with over 80% of their population in need of humanitarian aid. A devastating conflict has left children and families in urgent need of food, water and medical supplies. Currently, 1.71 million children are internally displaced.

Penny Appeal are on the ground in Yemen, providing people in need in crisis-affected areas and IDP camps with essential food packs, clean water, medical supplies and hygiene kits, as well as PPE and Covid-19 Testing kits to hospitals.

To help and make a difference for the people of Yemen, Capstone South East donated £10 for each carer family to the Penny Appeal and in return our carers were each treated to a delicious chocolate fudge cake!

We hope the families enjoyed these cakes and the project can contribute towards improving lives in Yemen. For us all at Capstone South East we are always looking for opportunities to help young people be that in the UK or overseas – for us, every child matters!

We received such lovely feedback from our foster carers:

From SK – “Thank you Capstone, it was a lovely gesture, and the cake was lovely”.

From SC – “Many thanks Capstone. Wishing you all a Happy Ramadan and a super Eid”

From CT “Very appreciated thank you all so much to the Capstone team!”

From PS – “Thank you for the cake was delicious, so thoughtful!”

From SK – “Thank you Capstone for lovely cake. It’s yummy.”

From TW – “Just received my chocolate cake, perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Thank you.”
