Nothing to see here…just one of our fabulous foster carers taking her little chickens to school.
Lisa is supporting the children's school in raising money for them to set up a small farm for the children to be involved in the care of the animals. Other schools across the UK who have carried out similar projects report a level of learning in care, responsibility and empathy for the children, that simply cannot be taught in a classroom.
Lisa and her family decided to undertake the 2 mile walk to school dressed as chickens to raise money for the cause. They managed to raise £442 in total! Lisa says:
“We had a really fun day, and the children loved the build-up and learning the birdie song as it was also dress as a song day at school.”
Here at Capstone Foster Care, we love supporting our foster carers when they raise money for such fantastic causes. Well done Lisa!
