We’ll be there for you, ready to answer any of your questions about fostering and becoming a foster carer. An expert and friendly advisor will speak to you at a time that’s convenient for you. You’ll be able to ask us as many questions as you need, to help you make a decision about whether being a foster carer is for you and your family.
Every member of our team you come in to contact with, be it by phone or who visit your home, will be courteous, considerate and caring. Becoming a foster carer is a big step and we want you to feel comfortable every step of the way. You will become part of our family.
To ensure you have an open and honest view of being a foster carer through our Skills to Foster programme. This will allow you to make this life changing step with all the information you need and want. You’ll get the opportunity to speak to foster carers and learn about their experiences.
Our team will support you through the entire application and assessment process. You will have an experienced supervising social worker who will work closely with you and will be on hand to answer any of your questions, provide you with the support you need and guide you through to Panel.
You will be told all about the process to become a foster carer and every step will be clearly explained. We will let you know the outcome of your Panel recommendation on the same day. You will get the chance to meet with our placements team who will get to know you and your aspirations as a foster carer as soon as you’re approved. They can then start to look for suitable placements.
As a foster carer, we will continue to be by your side. We’ll be there for you 24/7, 365 days a year to support you through every placement. We’ll ensure you receive the training and support when you need it and our local team will never be far away to help you through your new life as a foster carer.
