Capstone South West wear hats for Brain Tumour Research

29th March, 2021

On Friday 26th March our Devon and Bristol teams in the South West wore hats for Brain Tumour Research's – Wear a Hat Day! A day to help fund and raise awareness for the life changing research.

Brain tumours can affect anyone, at any age and unfortunately they kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Even though this is the case, only 1% of the national spend for cancer research is given to this type of research. This is why Wear a Hat Day is so important for brain tumour research. The day first launched in 2010 and it has sinced raised over £2 million in the last 10 years. This has helped them to fund crucial ‘discovery’ research as well as to support with campaigning to help influence our governments and the larger charities to invest in more research nationally.

Anna our Children’s Champion in the South West said "Those of you that know me won’t be surprised that I have a terrier on my hat! I’m wearing a hat to help save the lives of future children. This will help with vital research! Why not join me and give something back?"
