9th July, 2021
On the 12th June, 10 fostering families, approximately 21 children and 4 members of Capstone Foster Care had a picnic in celebration of International Picnic Day. Some foster carers brought along their four-legged friends too!
The weather was beautifully hot and sunny; a perfect day for the picnic and the younger children had their teddy bears with them. Pictured, you can see the very cute Cubbie Bear who has been with his young person for two years. Cubbie even has his own wardrobe, because when he first came home, he had no clothes.
The foster carers brought their own lunch and staff brought along cold drinks, ice cream and a picnic basket filled with sweets.
There were soft balls, footballs and skipping ropes for the children, who had great fun playing ball games and trying to skip. Some of the children had their own outdoor equipment too like cricket sets and tennis rackets. Some families went out for walks around the park and others went on a bear hunt! We all of course respected the Covid rules by wearing a face covering when entering the coffee shop and toilet, using hand sanitiser and maintaining social distance.
It was truly such a memorable day and was just lovely after so long to see everyone face to face.
