Our Heywood team had a spooktacular time!

31st December, 2019

On Tuesday 29th October, our Heywood team got into the full Halloween spirit and held a party for all our children and carers. Fancy dress was optional for the occasion, but most children arrived in some fantastic creative costumes. We had witches, mummies, spiders, princesses and lots more. It was great to see an array of children of all ages mixing well together and having fun. We planned lots of craft activities so there was something for everyone to take part in, such as:

  • Sewing felt pumpkins
  • Decorating witches’ hats
  • Making spiders from pipe cleaners and pompoms
  • Pumpkin carving
  • Party music and games with prizes

We also hired our regular and extremely talented local face painter, Vicky, who is always a big hit with the children. They all queued up to have their faces painted she was able to create some beautiful festival pieces which they loved! We even provided food and refreshments and the Krispy Kreme doughnuts were especially popular. Each child received a goody bag to take home filled with sweets, balloons and more activities. It was lovely to see all the children interact well and get involved in all of the craft stations. They all especially loved the pumpkin carving activity which was run by one of our carer Trish. She was a big hit with all the children and we really appreciated her support. The children all carved their own pumpkin and created some fantastic designs. We also had some awesome teamwork taking place as the children got into groups or pairs and use toilet paper to make live mummies! We love organising fun, seasonal events like this for our carers and their children and always ask for feedback so we can improve for next time. However, the feedback we received was excellent which was very pleasing. Here is some of the feedback we received: One child claimed ‘I’m having the best time ever, I want to come again!’ One of our carers also said ‘Wonderful event. Children loved the laid-back atmosphere. Loved the activities, well-done Capstone!’ ‘The Halloween event was fantastic, it had everything that you could possibly want, 10/10! ‘Well organised activities. Children have enjoyed it. The hotdogs and doughnuts were a bonus!’ ‘It is the best party ever. Thank you!’ ‘The event was very good, catered for everyone. 10/10!’ ‘Fantastic, lots of great activities to do, brilliant. Thank you!’ ‘Fabulous, fun-filled event. Brilliant, lots to do, thank you!
