C is one of our young people who lives in the Bradford area with his foster carers. He has been making the most of lockdown by receiving one-to-one virtual cricket coaching sessions through his school with a coach from Surrey County Cricket Club - they are like the Manchester United of cricket.
One of his sessions was even observed by John Neal (Head of Coaching, England Cricket Board), and recently he received a video message from England cricketer, Sam Curran, telling C that he has watched some of his "amazing" coaching sessions and has invited C to visit The oval and meet him in person after lockdown is over! He has also received a message from Rory Burns, who also plays for England.
His social worker Ann-Marie said "When I think of the traumatised little boy placed with Julie and Philip over 10 years ago, and the turbulent journey so far, it just reminds me of why we do what we do. It is an unbelievable achievement on C’s part, but also his incredible foster carers who have remained absolutely committed to him over many challenging years."
